112 infants to be named after Shivakumara Swamiji on his birth anniversary

Tumkur: On the occasion of Shivakumara Swamiji's 112 birthday, on April 1, 112 new-borns will be named after the seer. Shivakumara Swamiji, Siddaganga Mutt's pontiff, breathed his last at the age of 111 on January 21. A mega event has been organised on April 1 at Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru, which will also include a Guruvandana puja. Lakhs of devotees are expected to join in celebration.

The Mutt is well known for its anna dasoha (distributing free food to the needy). The seer built a hostel, provided free education and free food to lakhs of poor students. Currently, about 8,500 students reap the benefits of his service.
