Soldier martyred in unprovoked Pak firing at LoC in Jammu

Sukhwinder Singh, a 21-year-old soldier was martyred in an exchange of fire with Pakistan on LoC in Sunderbani sector of Jammu
 

Jammu: Pakistan carried out unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir on December 17 (Tuesday). Indian Army responded effectively inflicting substantial damages to the Pakistan Army. In the exchange of fire, Rifleman Sukhwinder Singh attained martyrdom. Sukhwinder Singh was martyred while responding to shelling by the Pakistan Army, stationed in Bodar Rajori of Jammu and Kashmir.

21-year-old rifleman Sukhwinder Singh belonged to Fatehpur village of Tehsil Mukerian of Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He is survived by his mother and brother. He will be cremated on Wednesday. Family members said they are proud of their son’s sacrifice for the country. Rifleman Sukhwinder Singh was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
