Shocking: Gram panchayat seat auctioned before Tasildhar

For general category Rs 15 lakh, for backward class seats Rs 4.5 lakh and for reservation seats Rs 1.5 lakh was fixed.

The shameful incident took place before Tasildhar at Tumakuru's Turuvekere taluk Nayeemunnisa.

The shocked Tasildhar who reached the spot following a complaint, warned the villagers about unanimous selection during polls and said she will take suo motu case as she has judicial powers.

This auctioning of seats in the name of temple development and village development is a recent trend catching up ahead of Gram Panchayat election in Karnataka.
