On Kannada Rajyotsava, protesters from Hyderabad-Karnataka seek separate statehood
Kalyan Karnataka Horata Samiti workers were detained in Kalaburagi on Friday for protesting in support of a separate state for Hyderabad-Karnataka region. This coincides with Kannada Rajyotsava Day that marks the formation of Karnataka.
Protest was held by the workers of Kalyan Karnataka Horata Samiti in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on the day of Kannada Rajyotsava (Karnataka's Formation Day), which falls on November 1. The protest was over the demand for a separate state for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, also known as Kalyan Karnataka. The protesters stood with the new flag for a separate state.
Meanwhile, the police detained the protesters for seeking separate statehood and protesting. Kalyan Karnataka covers six districts Kalabuargi, Bidar, Yadgiri, Raichur, Koppal and Bellari.
