Karnataka MLA Renukacharya slams CP Yogeshwar: 'He can't topple gov't, he's a 420, wants to be in news'

In a fresh political storm in Karnataka, war of words are being exchanged between CM BS Yediyurappa's political secretary MP Renukacharya and Tourism Minister CP Yogeshwar.

Earlier in the day, Renukacharya questioned the capability of the Minister and said, "Does he have any capacity to bring down the government? He is a loser and a 420 and he has no voting rights (as Karnataka Legislative Assembly Member), he has no entry into the Assembly. He went (Delhi) to be in the news."

When asked about leadership and organization yet to take any steps, he further added that BJP will find it tough if leaders like Yogeshwar are allowed to speak without naming the Minister.

From the beginning, Renukacharrya and some leaders have been critical about CP Yogeshwar and Basangouda Patil Yatnal and accused them of attempting to sabotage the party.

Reacting to the allegations of Renukacharya and some leaders in the party and on his recent Delhi visit, Minister Yogeshwar denied trying to make any attempt to destabilize the government and unseat CM BS Yediyurappa and said he went for personal work.

Speaking to the media after the Cabinet meeting, the Minister said,"There is no much importance in going to Delhi and coming back. I will not answer any of your questions. What I want to say is, I don't feel like giving any clarification. Last week I went, 15 days ago I went. I keep going and coming. Don't know why you are asking now. Nothing like that (on the attempt to change CM)."

The Minister said that he told Yediyurappa that the government has lost focus and appears like it is a coalition of BJP, Congress and JD(S) and expressed concerns about his future in the 2023 election as he sees a tactic understanding between few BJP leaders and his opponent his hometown Channapatna which was won by former CM HD Kumaraswamy in 2018.

He also expressed displeasure over interference by 'others' in  his department. It is believed that CM's son BY Vijayendra is trying to control the tourism department.
