Mangaluru: Chaotic scenes prevailed in Mangaluru on Thursday evening as news of a COVID-19 positive patient, who died in the evening on April 23, being cremated in the Pachanady area spread. As reports of the body of the COVID-19 victim being brought to Pacchanady crematorium in Mangaluru, Karnataka, surfaced, hundreds of villagers gathered at the spot and staged a protest.
MLA of Mangaluru North constituency Bharat Shetty arrived at the cremation ground and pacified the locals. According to reports, the mortal remains of the woman were still at the hospital and she would be cremated on Friday.
