Bengaluru: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we have some good news, a progressive move and a step in the right direction as all police stations of Bengaluru City have women help desk officers who will offer support to women in distress.
The project helmed by Isha Pant, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bengaluru South-East has help desk personnel from civil defence and civilians who are the first point of contact for women. They will hand hold them through the various procedures at the station while also providing support, empathy and understanding. We spoke to Bengaluru South-East DCP Isha Pant on the initiative taken by the police department to make the city safer for women.
