Gram Panchayat becomes gambling den as president leads from the front in illegal activity

A Gram Panchayat president was caught gambling inside the premises of Panchayat office. It is alleged that he encourages public to indulge in the illegal activity.
 


A shocking video of public representative indulging in gambling is doing the rounds across parts of north Karnataka.

Gram Panchayat president Mylarappa Jalammanavar is also accused of encouraging public that comes with their grievances to gamble.

The villagers of Hatalgeri in Gadag who were frustrated with the acts of the president decided to teach him a lesson. On Thursday, they managed to film him while he was gambling.

Following this incident villagers are now demanding that police take action.

Gadag is one of the drought-hit areas. Last year, flash floods in bordering Belagavi, saw even parts of Gadag suffer.  Residents say that during the monsoon, people come to panchayat office to have agrarian issues addressed, but with such people being elected as president, issues never get sorted out.
