Family had no clue about Basavaraj's elevation as CM, claims son Sharath Bommai
As the state kept guessing about Yediyurappa's successor, the party announced former Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai's name as the next chief minister in the legislature party meeting evening. Interestingly, it seems, Basavaraj's family in RT Nagar seemed to have no clue about it.
Basavaraj Bommai's son Sharath Bommai claimed that like everyone, even the family was made to guess and never thought that his father will be elevated to the Karnataka Chief minister's post.
He credited BS Yediyurappa for his father's elevation and hoped that his blessings and support would continue to be there for him.
"It's a momentous occasion in the family and everyone feels happy about it," Sharath said.
He said that his father would have to deal with challenges like the Coronvirus pandemic, financial constraints and flash floods in Coastal and North Karnataka.
