Dr Lakshmipradha Srinivasan stunted by achondroplasia reaches great heights

Challenge is a term that does not indicate hurdles, instead it’s a power to stand and fight against it – these are Dr Lakshmipradha Srinivasan’s words that keep her going. She fights dwarfism head on to showcase her mother's paintings.
 

As a person suffering from dwarfism, Dr Lakshmipradha Srinivasan faced several struggles. But that did not hinder her from achieving her goals. Lakshmi, a dentist and an IT consultant by profession, suffers from a condition called achondroplasia which characterizes dwarfism.

Her life has been one of struggle at every stage. However, nothing could hamper her spirit and dream to achieve big. Apart from her professional work, she has been actively involved in social work which includes educating underprivileged children and extending monetary help to the needy with monetary funds.

Lakshmi has been awarded the Woman of the Year award in 2015 and 2017 by Eastern Group for her outstanding contribution to the society in the form of her social work.

Lakshmi’s family has been her source of strength. Her mother especially has been a great inspiration throughout her life. Lakshmi’s mother Ganga inculcated a never-give-up attitude and determination in her. While her father seeded his positive attitude in her and her brother always protected and encouraged her.

Unfortunately, Lakshmi lost her mother recently but believes that she is still lives on through her paintings. Lakshmi says her mother was a guiding angel and had great passion for arts. She is organising an exhibition called Lasya to showcase her mother’s paintings to the world on December 1 at Sobha lake view club house in Bellandur.
