Dalit youths stripped, flogged for arguing with Ahmedabad eatery owner

Ahmedabad: Two Dalit youths were allegedly beaten up at an eatery in Sabarmati Tol Nagar area of Ahmedabad around 7:30 pm yesterday. The youths are identified as Pragnesh Parmar and Jayesh. One of the youths was allegedly stripped and flogged and another one assaulted by a group of men.

According to reports, an argument took place between the eatery owner and Pragnesh following which the two youths were beaten up with sticks. An FIR has been filed under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and under sections of Preventions of Atrocities against SC/ST Act.
