Bengaluru: Dhanya Ravi’s incredible story and her quest to raise awareness about rare diseases will leave everyone inspired to give back something to the society we are a part of. Dhanya Ravi suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), a rare disease that has seen her suffer more than 200 fractures since birth. 29-year-old Dhanya suffers from OI commonly known as brittle bone disease wherein a simple act of coughing or sneezing triggers a fracture in her body. But her undying spirit has become an inspiration to many.
The experience of being able to connect those who could help with those in need helped Dhanya identify what she wanted to do in her life. She is a content writer, digital marketer, TEDx Speaker and disability evangelist. Dhanya has addressed motivational talks to nearly around 4000 people at various platforms globally by sharing her life stories at over 40 educational institutions and 20 plus private establishments, including public events and corporates. She maintains a personal blog ‘Dhanya Ravi – Where words speak’ and she also works as a freelance columnist and web content writer.
