Mangaluru: Calling the Mangaluru Police's action as brutal, Congress leader KR Ramesh Kumar said he and his colleagues, former minister MB Patil, SR Patil, VS Ugrappa and Naseer Ahmed were heckled by the cops at the airport and forced into the police jeep.

Speaking to Asianet Newsable, Kumar said, the Congress leaders wanted to meet the family of the deceased and the injured persons in police firing due to ongoing protest about CAA and NRC.

"Immediately after we landed in Mangaluru Airport, the police slapped a notice saying our presence will add more trouble and disturb peace. We defied the orders and went ahead, the police heckled and forced us into the jeep and since we had our return flight, we could not meet the victims and their families," said Kumar.
