[EXCLUSIVE] Prabhudeva reacts on Puneeth Rajkumar's demise: 'He always had a smiling face'
Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar is no more with us. South actor Prabhudeva who is mourning the loss of the actor, spoke exclusively to Asianet News about the actor. Puneeth's acting in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), had given him a lot of fame.
Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar's funeral has been postponed to tomorrow. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had made the announcement of the same. The iconic star passed away at 46, yesterday at a Bengaluru hospital due to cardiac arrest. Reportedly, he was admitted to Vikram Hospital at 11.30 am, after he had complained of chest pain.
People from all walks of life, took to Twitter to express condolences to the family of Puneeth. From Amitabh Bachchan to Mohanlal, Mammootty and Kamal Haasan, any celebrities have taken to their Instagram and Twitter accounts to pay respects to the actor. During an exclusive interaction with Asianet News, south actor and choreographer Prabhudeva said, "He (Puneeth) was a super human being. He always had a smiling face".
Even The Prime Minister had expressed condolences to his family and fans. "A cruel twist of fate has snatched away from us a prolific and talented actor, Puneeth Rajkumar. This was no age to go. The coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti", Modi had written on Twitter.
Chief Minister Bommai had said that he was shocked and also stated that the loss of the state's favourite actor Appu aka Mr Rajkumar was a huge loss. "Shocked and deeply saddened as Karnataka’s most loved superstar #PuneetRajkumar is no longer with us. A huge personal loss and one that’s difficult to come to terms with. Praying the almighty gives the Rajkumar family and fans the strength to bear this loss. #OmShanti", read his tweet.
To talk about the actor, he will always be remembered for his humble nature and gentlemanly attitude. He has always been an inspiration for many stars, right from a very young age. His acting in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985) was highly acclaimed.
