Rajasthan: 3 members of family end lives due to loans taken during coronavirus lockdown

A man named Rajendra, his wife and their child were found dead at their residence and police found a suicide note which stated they took the extreme step as they were unable to repay loans

Jodhpur: In a shocking incident, Jodhpur woke up to a mass suicide when a family of three ended their lives owing to debts. Financial crisis during the coronavirus lockdown forced a man named Rajendra to take a loan at an interest rate of 10%. Unable to repay the loan, Rajendra, his wife and their child took their lives. Rajendra was found hanging from the ceiling fan while his wife and child were lying dead on the bed. According to police, the wife and the child were strangled to death and Rajendra hanged himself. Police found a suicide note at their residence in Shankar Nagar which accused four people of forcing Rajendra and his family to take the extreme step.
