Attention diversion gang targets old man, steals Rs 1.5 lakh

Two members of an attention diversion gang targeted an old man and stole cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh in Yeshwanthpur Police Station limits in broad daylight.

Bengaluru: In what looked like a scene straight from a movie, an attention diversion gang of two miscreants targeted an old man and stole a bag full of cash from a car within a few seconds. An old man had just withdrawn money from the bank and was heading home when he became the target of the attention diversion gang. One of the thieves diverted the attention of Gundappa saying that his money lay fallen on the road. Gundappa got out of his car and started searching for his money, while the other miscreant stole the money bag by opening the other door of the car. The victim later realised that his bag was stolen.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed in the locality. The incident took place in Yeshwanthpur in the afternoon and money worth Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen. A case has been registered with Yeshwanthpur Police. The cops are on the lookout for the culprit.
