With reduced human movement, traffic, jackal ventures out of forest, gets hit by speeding bike
Due to lockdown and reduced human movement in Kanakagiri forest area in Koppal, Karnataka, movement of animals was reported. Now due to lockdown relaxation, when traffic was getting back to normal, a speeding bike hit a jackal on the road.
Biker rammed their two-wheeler against a jackal when the animal was trying to cross the road and enter the forest area.
The incident happened yesterday at Kanakagiri forest area in Karnataka when a biker taking a turn at Kittur Rani Chennama Circle hit the jackal as he failed to notice the animal crossing the road.
The range forest officer Shivraj Mety arrived at the spot. The animal was shifted to Ballari district's Kamalapura Animal Rescue Centre and is said to be recovering from injury.
The villagers say, as there was long lockdown, many animals were being sighted near the forest premises due to reduced human movement and this jackal would have ventured out too.
