DK Shivakumar presents Rs 1 crore cheque; Karnataka transport minister calls it ‘drama’

Known for making calculated moves, newly appointed Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar presented a cheque of Rs 1 crore in value for transportation of stranded workers. Transportation minister Laxman Savadi has dubbed this as “drama”.

As stranded migrants are being shuttled in special KSRTC buses to their natives, newly appointed Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar said that he would give Rs 1 crore by way of cheque for the travel charges of migrants stranded in various parts of Karnataka.

The Congress president presented a cheque drawn in favour of the KSRTC MD.

DK Shivakumar said that the Congress is willing to help the government and ensure stranded workers reach their natives safely and therefore the party is willing to donate Rs 1 crore for the travel charges of stranded migrant labourers.

However, transport minister and deputy CM Laxman Savadi has called it “drama”.
