Video: Indian Navy personnel get vaccine shots

A total of 40 Indian Navy personnel were administered with Covid vaccine shot on Saturday, the first day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide vaccination drive against coronavirus disease.

A total of 40 Indian Navy personnel were administered with Covid vaccine shot on Saturday, the first day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide vaccination drive against coronavirus disease. 

Eastern Naval Command FOC-in-C Vice Admiral Atul Jain inaugurated the vaccination programme at INHS Kalyani, wherein doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, health workers, ward sahayaks and medical attendants were given vaccination dose. 

"Over the next few months, all service personnel of the Indian Navy at Visakhapatnam are envisaged to be vaccinated," Eastern Naval Command PRO Commander CG Raju said. 

In order to make the vaccination drive incident-free, the staff had to undergo rigorous training.

Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director RS Guleria and NITI Aayog member (Health) VK Paul were the first ones to get the vaccine shots on the first day.
