WhatsApp to soon rollout multi-device support 2.0, users can add iPad as well
According to the company, the idea to offer multi-device compatibility to Apple iPads is in the works and will be carried out in future updates.
In June, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the messaging network is working on multi-device capabilities. The goal is for users to be able to access their WhatsApp accounts from devices other than the smartphone-linked with their registered mobile phone number. All they have to do is connect the gadgets to their WhatsApp account.
While WhatsApp previously enabled WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Desktop, and Service to function on many platforms, the company has now added the Apple iPad to the list of supported devices, according to WABetaInfo, a portal that follows WhatsApp changes.

According to the company, the idea to offer multi-device compatibility to Apple iPads is in the works and will be carried out in future updates.  Soon, the functionality may be available for Android devices as well. The reports emphasised that WhatsApp will be available on the Apple tablet as a native software, not a web app, for multi-device functionality. While the app is not yet known, a beta version is.Â
Those that participated in the beta programme will automatically receive the stable version in the future. WhatsApp on iPad will function independently, according to the company. It also does not permit the connection of a second smartphone to one of the linked devices. In the following days, we may also see some adjustments on this front.Â

In July, beta testers received multi-device support. It can connect up to four devices as well as a smartphone. Users will most likely use a QR code to log in. When a smartphone is linked to a WhatsApp account, the messaging platform is available on other devices even after turning off the initial device. Aside from text messaging, one of the linked devices can also make audio and video conversations. However, both the sender and the recipient must be up to date.
