It is definitely a story made for the big screen. Separated by a wily father, it took two girls over 28 years and a six month search across Hyderabad to finally trace their mother in Karnataka.

The Indian Express reported on Friday that the Hyderbad police were finally able to help two UAE girls reunite with their mother, who was sent away by their Arab father 28 years ago.
For 60-year-old Nazia Sayeed, the wait has been a long one after her husband, a UAE national, divorced and sent her away back to Hyderabad in 1988. Now she is married to a fruiter seller in Karnataka, and has more children from her second marriage.
It was back in January this that Ayesha (33) and Fatima (32) arrived from UAE to Hyderabad and approached the local police asking their help to trace back their mother.
“They brought old photographs and sought our help. I promised to try our best. We circulated copies of the photos in the old city area. After asking hundreds of people and following many leads, we traced this woman,” DCP (south zone) V Satyanarayana told Indian Express.
UAE-based businessman Rasheed Obaid Masmary married Hyderabad woman, Nazia Sayeed, in 1981. After reaching UAE Nazia found out that Rasheed already had wife, however, still she continued being with him. She bore him two girls. However, in 1988, Rasheed gave her a triple talaq and sent her back to India. But the daughters stayed with him.
He later married another Hyderabadi woman and took her to UAE. The family later settled down in Dubai.
According to Deccan Chronicle, after receiving the request from the two daughters, the Hyderabad police formed a special team to track down Nazia. Finally the found that she was married to a fruit vendor in Bidar, Karnataka.
The police had even more difficulty in establishing the identity as Nazia barely remembered her children. However, she was able remember that one of her daughters had an extra sixth finger.
The police then crosschecked the identity with Fatima and confirmed the relation.
