CM Kejriwal has already held meetings with leaders from various opposition parties, including TMC, SP, CPI, JMM, and Shiv Sena (UBT), among others. Additionally, he has reached out to the Congress party, which has remained undecided on whether to support or reject the Delhi ordinance.

The top court bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices P S Narasimha also directed the Delhi government to amend its plea and add Lieutenant Governor as a party in the case. It has posted the matter for next Monday for considering interim reliefs.

In a statement, AAP said effigies and copies of the "black ordinance" will be burnt from July 6 to July 13 at various localities, streets and intersections across Delhi, serving as a powerful reminder of the people's discontent.

On Wednesday, CM Arvind Kejriwal met General Secretary of Communist Party of India D Raja, to seek CPI's support on the Centre's ordinance against Delhi government. From May 23, Kejriwal embarked on a nationwide tour to seek support from the Opposition parties against the Ordinance.

Security has been upped in and around Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to hold a “Maha Rally" on Sunday against the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in the national capital. As per AAP, around one lakh people are likely to rally today.
 

On May 19, the Centre promulgated the Ordinance to create an Authority for the transfer and posting of Group-A officers in Delhi, which the AAP government has said goes against the Supreme Court verdict on control of services.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray have assured their support to Kejriwal in this matter. The Delhi CM said he will seek time on Friday for a meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi to discuss the issue.

On Tuesday, Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata as part of their nationwide tour to garner support for the AAP's fight against the Centre's ordinance. 

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Tuesday signed the ordinance that provides for stringent punishment, including imprisonment of up to seven years and a maximum fine of Rs 5 lakh for those found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to those working in the health services sector in the State.

Delhi services row: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured her counterpart from Delhi that her party would support him in his fight against the Central ordinance.
 

In what is being seen as an endorsement of the stand of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the Centre, Ajay Maken took to Twitter to state that none of the Prime Ministers, since independence, had allowed the elected Delhi government the powers to transfer and post officials.

The Congress will support Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and will oppose the Centre's executive order on transfers and postings in Delhi in the monsoon session of Parliament.

Mufti was referring to an ordinance passed by the President, giving overriding powers to the Delhi's Lieutenant Governor -- a union government nominee -- to oversee the transfer, posting and disciplinary proceedings against civil servants in Delhi.  

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said his government will challenge the Centre's ordinance on the transfer of bureaucrats in Delhi in the Supreme Court. “They were anticipating the closure of the Supreme Court for summer vacations, as they were well aware of the illegality of this ordinance," he added.
