West Nile virus is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes, particularly mosquitoes of the Culex species. These mosquitoes become infected after feeding on birds that carry the virus. An orange alert was declared in Palakkad district, and a yellow alert was declared in Thrissur, Alappuzha, and Kozhikode district due to soaring temperatures. 

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts are likely to receive heavy rain today.

From April 29 to May 3, the maximum temperature in Palakkad district will rise to 41 degrees Celsius; 40 degrees in Kollam and Thrissur districts, 39 degrees in Kozhikode, and 38 degrees in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Kannur.

The mother and child who went missing from Thrissur were found dead in a river in Palazhi. The police reached the spot and started investigation.

Both of them were working as security guards at a bank operating near the premises of the University of Agriculture campus. The woman who came to clean the bank found the dead body.

The maximum temperature in Palakkad district will rise to 41 degrees Celsius; 40 degrees in Kollam and Thrissur districts, 39 degrees in Kozhikode, and 38 degrees in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Kannur, it was 38 degrees Celsius.
