On Sunday, counting of votes began at 8 am with postal ballots being counted first, followed by EVM counting at 8:30 am. The counting of votes will be completed in 15 rounds. The result is expected to be out in the afternoon.

The counting of votes is underway for the bye-elections held on seven seats in six states amid tight security. The voting was held on November 3. Let's take a seat-by-seat update.

"You saw it yesterday. They sent brokers to buy each MLA for Rs 100 crore. They wanted to buy 20 or 30 MLAs, destabilise KCR's government, and encroach on Telangana to implement privatisation as they saw fit," said K Chandrasekhar Rao.
 

Though the commissioner did not disclose the exact amount seized from them, another police official said on condition of anonymity that the seized cash was about Rs 15 crore.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced his foray into national politics with the launch of his national party on Thursday. KCR announced the renaming of his TRS party as Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS).

After the video went viral, TRS leader Rajanala Srihari responded by expressing his anger at those trying to give a political twist to his gesture. The TRS leader said he was merely distributing alcohol and chicken to porters as Dussehra gifts and that the ceremony had nothing to do with the party's national shift. 

With Telangana government celebrating September 17 as Telangana National Unity Day, the Chief Minister skipped the event organised by Government of India, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the national flag and reviewed a colourful parade by the Central paramilitary forces.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K Kavitha said, "I am unrelated to the ongoing liquor policy investigation in Delhi. The BJP is attempting to malign my family's name. We won't give up... will fight."
 

TRS leader KT Rama Rao tweeted that to promote 'Telangana pride,' the state's people are watching the 'slaves of Gujarat' and will oppose any attempt to diminish Telangana's 'self-respect.' He used the hashtag '#TelanganaPride' in his tweet.
 

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday questioned the Telangana government over the show cause notice issued to some employees of the Bellampally Municipal Council after they skipped the birthday celebration of Municipal Minister and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's son K Taraka Rama Rao or KTR.

Prashant Kishor’s firm will continue to work with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for next year’s assembly elections in the state irrespective of his plans to help the Congress in the 2024 general elections, a TRS functionary familiar with the matter said.

Telangana's Urban Development KT Rama Rao's threat to cut-off power and water supply to teach a lesson to cantonment areas for allegedly blocking roads has irked former defence personnel in particular.

KTR had warned that if the Local Military Authority blocks roads and creates hurdles for development works, the Telangana government will cut power and water supply if needed to Cantonment limits.

Addressing a public meeting organised by TRS at the district headquarters town of Wanaparthy, KCR made the remarks claiming that Telangana has achieved tremendous progress under his leadership, he said the entire country should achieve such progress.
