The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, informed the Rajya Sabha that it is mandatory to display the logo of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in front of houses built under the scheme. The Kerala government had earlier objected to the Union government's directive to display a separate logo.

Yellow alert has been issued in various districts of Kerala with the state bracing for heavy rains for the next five days. Also, there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather along the southern Kerala - Lakshadweep coasts.

The Kerala government has announced emergency financial assistance for victims of the recent landslides in Wayanad's Mundakkai and Chooralmala areas. Each family staying in relief camps will receive Rs 10,000, and daily allowances of Rs 300 per adult will be provided for 30 days. 

The Kerala High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the recent landslides in Wayanad district and initiated proceedings to address the issues that led to the disaster.

Two female senior civil police officers, who are sisters, have landed in trouble for their alleged involvement in a financial fraud. They also allegedly used notorious goon named "Gundukad Sabu" to threaten the complainant.

 Unexplained tremors were felt in Nenmeni village, Wayanad, with loud noises and ground shaking reported by locals. The Geological Survey of India has confirmed the incident, but the cause remains unknown.

11 days after the devastating landslides, four bodies have been recovered from the affected area in Wayanad. Police dogs have been deployed to sniff out potential victims, and efforts are underway to bring in heavy machinery to aid the search.

The Indian Army contingent, along with the dog squad, has finished its extended rescue and restoration operations in the landslide-hit Wayanad and was given a warm farewell by the residents. 

AMMA General Secretary Siddique stated that a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the landslide victims in Wayanad. The event, organized in association with the Producers' Association, will take place on August 20th in Angamaly.

According to the police, Aju Alex had made derogatory remarks against Mohanlal, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, for visiting the flood-affected area in Wayanad in army uniform.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar, currently involved in legal proceedings for an alleged extortion case, has shown solidarity with the people of Kerala by offering Rs 15 crores to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. This contribution is in response to the recent landslides in Wayanad, which have caused significant devastation.
 

Kerala is expected to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days, with southern and central regions likely to see the most rain. Private weather agencies have issued a yellow alert for three districts for tomorrow.
