The Karnataka High Court has quashed the case against Mohammed Harris Nalapad, State Youth Congress President, relating to alleged money laundering. Nalapad staged a protest against the Enforcement Directorate's actions on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The court ruled in favour of Nalapad, citing lawful dissent in the protest.

It seems controversy and Congress leader NA Harris' family go hand in hand.  Earlier his son Nalapad was in news for the wrong reasons and also put his image at stake, now Harris himself has landed in controversy by allegedly speaking cheaply about Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar.

Despite leading in the Youth Congress election that was held online, Congress MLA NA Harris's son Mohammed Nalapad Harris cannot become the Youth Congress president. Some in the party raised the issue of his dark past and pending cases and within a few hours he was disqualified.

Son of Congress MLA NA Haris, Mohammed Nalapad, who is out on bail in an assault case in 2018, has found himself in the news once again for an alleged hit-and-run incident. On Sunday, afternoon a Bentley car hit an auto and bike near Mekhri Circle. Following the accident, Nalapad and others are said to have fled the scene.
 

Police said a hit-and-run case has been registered against Mohammed Nalapad, son of Congress MLA NA Haris. Meanwhile, another man surrendered before police on Monday saying he was the one who drove the Bentley.

It seems that the high court order and BBMP rules do not matter to supporters of political leaders as they continue to deface the city for publicity. Ram Nayak, a supporter of Congress MLA NA Haris had put out cutouts wising his son Mohammed Nalapad on his birthday on January 31. Now the BBMP has filed a complaint and an FIR has been registered in this regard.
 

With Rizwan Arshad winning from Shivajinagar and still a hot favourite to contest the next Lok Sabha elections in 2023, and the reign of Roshan Baig coming to an end, sources say, NA Haris will now look to launch his son Mohammed Nalapad. Nalapad was instrumental in mobilising youths in Tamil speaking pockets of Shivajinagar in the by-election to ensure Rizwan's victory.

The BBMP's legal cell’s failure has resulted in MLA NA Haris's firm Nalapad group bagging a prime land in Bengaluru. The land in question is called kunte (pond) and is located close to Vidhana Soudha. The BJP which is in the opposition in BBMP is planning to challenge the order in the Supreme Court
