Congress MLA NA Harris insults Dr Rajkumar, irks fans of Sandalwood thespian
It seems controversy and Congress leader NA Harris' family go hand in hand. Earlier his son Nalapad was in news for the wrong reasons and also put his image at stake, now Harris himself has landed in controversy by allegedly speaking cheaply about Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar.
On a regular inspection at his assembly Shanthinagar, Harris at one place stopped. As a statue of Dr Rajkumar was coming up on the roadside. Harris said, "Making a statue itself is a big thing, we can't make an office." He further said that those making such statues are 'brainless people'.
He also told the group to keep such statues at home and not to bring out in public.
Following his statement going viral on social media, fans of the thespian of Kannada industry Dr Rajkumar and lakhs of Kannadigas are venting out their ire at Harris and are demanding an unconditional apology from him.
Recently his son Nalapad was in the news after he was allowed to contest election to Karnataka Youth Congress president post despite being expelled from the party after he allegedly bashed up a businessman's son at a pub.
In 2018, Harris's name became 'popular' nationally after his son Nalapad was arrested and jailed in connection with a pub attack.
