Republic Day parade: Preparations in full swing at Bengaluru’s Manekshaw Parade Ground

Bengaluru: The preparations are in full swing at the Manekshaw Parade Ground in Bengaluru. It is gearing up for the 70th Republic Day events organised by the Karnataka government. The military force, police force and students are practicing for the grand parade. Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala will hoist the tricolour on January 26 at 9 AM. Flowers will be showered from a helicopter. There will be aerial showering of flowers on Thursday, during the practice session, said Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner Manjunath Prasad. After the parade, the governor will deliver the R-Day speech. 2,200 students will take part in the cultural events. The BBMP is spending Rs 75 lakh for the state event and three rehearsals have been conducted ahead of the actual event, said the commissioner.
