Indian woman in UAE alleges harassment by husband, requests for help on Twitter
A Bengaluru woman residing in UAE requested authorities on Twitter in the country and India to help her return to the country, accusing her husband Mohammed Khizar Ullah of domestic abuse.
FollowBengaluru: The Indian Consulate in Dubai and Sharjah Police on Thursday arrested a man after a Bengaluru woman, living in Sharjah, accused her husband of domestic abuse on Twitter and requested for help. The woman alleged that her husband Mohammed Khizar Ullah had been abusing her and urged UAE and Indian authorities to help her exit the country.
The woman, who was bleeding, alleged that the culprit is her husband who had subjected her to domestic violence and repeated physical assaults. She did not want to stay in the UAE and expressed her wish to return home to India with her children: one is five years old and the other is 17 months old.
After her video appeal on Twitter went viral on Wednesday, Sharjah Police and Indian Consulate General, Dubai, rushed to her rescue. The police arrested her husband for physical abuse.

The tweet also had a 10-second video where Jasmine is seen bleeding from the left side of her eye and is pleading for help.
The Indian consulate general, Dubai confirmed the news of Ullah’s arrest and tweeted on the same. "We met Ms. Jasmine today and are in regular touch with her. We have called her husband to the Consulate tomorrow and understand that local authorities are already questioning him. We will provide all possible help to Ms. Jasmine."

Jasmine married Khizar in 2013 when she was working in Bengaluru in a private firm in the Human Resources department.
The woman who was physically abused by her husband is safe in Sharjah now and is waiting to return home to her family in Bengaluru.
