Forget KJOs films its time to get high on Pawans Nicotine after Lucia

Last year, a bunch of filmmaking youngsters had given Sandalwood, a much-needed break from remake films and ‘lifts’ which hit the theatres. With very less budgets and little-known actors, but armed with out-of-the-box scripts blended with perfection and hard work, these 20-something filmmakers are laying the foundations of a creatively robust future for the Sandalwood.

Forget, the big stars and big budget movies, now filmmakers and audiences are looking for content-based films. We have some recent films which didn't had big stars or had huge budgets but the movies rocked the Kannada Box-office, Thithi, U-Turn, Godhi Banna Sadharana Maikattu, Rama Rama Re, Ricky, Karvva and Last Bus, among others.

He has recently announced his next project C10 H14 N2 which revolves around nicotine. According to the reports, Ganesh will be in the lead, and this time it will be a big budget movie, a big thanks to Mysore Talkies. The makers plan to take the film on floors in May.

Pawan's first successful movie ‘Lucia’ was the first Kannada film to be crowd-funded which created a new trend. His previous movie U-Turn was the first Kannada film on Netflix. The film was not a regular masala movie with fights, stunts and romantic songs; it just had one item song.

Lucia was a movie about the use of drug named Lucia and the identity crisis and a star life woven to the life of a pauper. In U-Turn Pawan tried to talk about the dangers of illegal U-turn with a supernatural element. Of course, following the release of the movie many illegal U-turns in Bengaluru were closed voluntarily by youths. Now it is Nicotine. Let’s wait and watch what the interestingly titled movie has in store.
