The decision comes just after the Mulayam family joined forces to campaign for former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in his Karhal Assembly district. Shivpal's name was absent from the Samajwadi Party's list of campaigners provided prior to the Assembly elections.
In an interview with PTI, Adityanath said that the other parties were merely competing for second place and that he was unconcerned about his own election from Gorakhpur Urban.
“You must have seen, the father who was pushed from the stage was humiliated and the party was captured, he had to plead to him for saving the seat," the PM said.

Akhilesh Yadav told the media at Jaswant Nagar, "The BJP is going to be destroyed. Farmers in Uttar Pradesh will not forgive them. We've already surpassed a century in the previous two phases, and even in this phase, the SP-led alliance would be ahead of everyone else."
Malvika said, "I've put forth a lot of effort to improve people's lives. We've done a lot of good in the community. I don't believe any other candidate has done as much community service."
