Tractor rally on Republic Day: 60 minutes of mayhem in Delhi

All hell broke loose in the national capital on the day it is celebrating its Republic Day. Shameful scenes played out on Delhi's streets as protesting farmers clashed with the police.

All hell broke loose in the national capital on the day it is celebrating its Republic Day. Shameful scenes played out on Delhi's streets as protesting farmers clashed with the police.

From tractors trying to run over policemen to storming of the historic Red Fort; from brandishing swords to pelting stones to vandalising public property, over 60 days of peaceful farmers protest lost all credibility in little over 60 minutes.

This wasn't what farmers promised just 24 hours ago. This wasn't what the nation expected to see on January 26.

While on one hand, the nation's pride was on display at the Rajpath, on the other a bunch of hoodlums was decimating it on the streets of Delhi.

Shameful, unbecoming and unjustified, this could well be the beginning of the end of the farmers' protest.
