Tokyo Olympics Exclusive: Indian shooting contingent flies out of Croatia

The 15-member squad, which was on a long competition-cum-training tour of Croatia, flew out of Zagreb on Friday.

Indian shooting squad is on its way to Tokyo to take part in the Olympics. The 15-member squad, which was on a long competition-cum-training tour of Croatia, flew out of Zagreb on Friday.

The contingent has been in Croatia since May. So they will not be required to undergo long quarantine, which is mandatory for those travelling directly from India.

Even though the contingent did not really fire on all cylinders at the just-concluded ISSF world cup, the Indian shooters are still viewed as a strong gold medal hope for the country.

Shooting will be one of the earliest medal events at the Tokyo Olympics, kicking off with the women's 10m air rifle.
