Pregnant deer dies as stray dog attacks continue in Turahalli forest

A shocking incident of stray dog attack has resurfaced again from Turahalli on Bengaluru outskirts.  A pack of stray dogs attacked a pregnant deer. The deer died due to injuries. According to reports, this is the seventh incident in last three months

Bengaluru: The forest department's inability in tackling stray dog menace has come to light as a pregnant deer has become the latest victim. On Saturday morning (May 11), a pack of stray dogs attacked a pregnant deer. Activists said this is the seventh attack in last three months. According to sources, due to developmental activities like parks for public and others in and around Turahalli forest area, stray dogs from Bengaluru outskirts are venturing into forests.  This has resulted in deer getting attacked. The forest officials have failed to contain such attacks, said the locals. Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Venkatesh said that the public had intimated about the attack. "Our officials visited immediately and tried to save but the deer died of Injuries," said the ACF official and added that such incidents will be prevented in future.
