700 pigeons poisoned to death in Basavanagudi

Bengaluru: It was a sight that anyone would like to forget at the earliest at a park in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. As many as 700 pigeons were found dead. Morning walkers were shocked to see these dead pigeons.

The cause behind their death is suspected to be poisoning of the grains they eat. It is also being said that the grains were poisoned with an intent to kill these birds. It is further alleged that if birds are sacrificed on the day of Amavasya, it brings success to endeavours one takes up.

Sadly, it is alleged that though the citizens informed the matter to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) authorities, they refused to visit the place, as they are allegedly busy with elections. The citizens then got ready to lodge a police complaint.
