Bengaluru: Valmiki community members are staging a protest in Bengaluru seeking 7.5% reservation for Scheduled Tribes (STs) in employment and education. Valmiki community seer Prasannananda Puri Swamiji had started padayatra on June 9 in Davanagere. The rally reached Bengaluru on Tuesday (June 25) and they will stage protest at Freedom Park. But before reaching the venue, protestors staged a stir in front of Vidhana Soudha, bringing the traffic to a halt. As no vehicles were moving for a long time, water resources minister DK Shivakumar took a metro at Vidhana Soudha station to go to city civil court to attend a case.
