Bengaluru: Muthyalamma Devi Temple's annual feast has brought together several devotees who have thronged the temple. Devotees have been gathering in large numbers over the last two days. What’s interesting to note is that the deity draws not just Hindus, but Muslims and Christians too. Many believe that offerings of ragi malt and food grains and pulling the deity’s chariot during the feast, keeps the area that houses the temple safe from diseases like chickenpox, smallpox and others.

The temple is said to be over 300-years-old, and the practice of offerings and chariot-pulling is part of the annual fest. The Muthyalamma Devi Temple has welcomed top politicians like Roshan Baig and PC Mohan who attribute their success to the deity.

According to temple trust president, " The temple priest Subramani deposits money on behalf of Roshan Baig during elections. Also, an offering to the deity every Friday by PC Mohan is one of the reasons for their victory."
