Sumalatha's Mandya rally: Congress workers support independent candidate

Sumalatha filed her nomination from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. The wife of later actor-politician Ambareesh is contesting as an independent candidate after the Congress refused to give her a ticket. The Congress and JD(S) have a seat-sharing agreement and accordingly Mandya is in the hands of the JD(S). But in Mandya, after Sumalatha filed her nomination, she was taken on a procession. Congress workers were seen shouting slogans in support of her while waving the grand old party’s flags. Many Congress leaders have openly expressed their support to Sumalatha.
