PubliCity: KSRTC estimates loss due to vandalism at Rs 20.13 crore in 3 years
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation that witnessed arson and damage to its property due to arrest of Congress leader DK Shivakumar, used a burnt bus attached to Kanakapura depot to narrate the sad story of buses and displayed it at Majestic Bus Station to bring about awareness among the public. Bengaluru: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation during an awareness campaign put up a burnt bus at Majestic Bus Station to highlight the sad state of buses during violent protests. The corporation said it lost a whopping Rs 20.13 crore in the last three years.
The losses were due to stone pelting, burning of buses and cancellation of services.
Recently KA11-F-0469 a KSRTC bus attached to Kanakapura depot was burnt by supporters of DK Shivakumar following his arrest.
Authorities have appealed to the public not to damage public property like government buses. According to data, 249 buses have been damaged in the last three years due to burning of buses and vandalism.
