Bengaluru: Several employees of the state-run military planemaker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) staged a hunger strike on Tuesday (June 25) and demanded a fair revision of their wages. The workers also alleged that the authorities of the HAL had gross discrimination between the ordinary employees and executives in their salary raise.

However, a press release from the HAL refuted these claims made by the All India HAL Trade Union Coordination Committee and said that the HAL management believes that workers’ wage revision from January 1, 2017, can only be achieved with the co-operation of the unions, based on their realistic and affordable expectations.
