Bengaluru: Congress candidate resorts to minority appeasement
Known for its appeasement and prioritising Dalits over others, Congress candidate BK Hariprasad reached out to Al-Ameen Education Society to seek votes. During his speech, he compared RSS leader Savarkar to a British agent.
Bengaluru: Congress’s strategy seems to be running on the same lines every time. The party has once again chosen minority appeasement as its go-to plan. Bengaluru South candidate BK Hariprasad of the Congress reached out to Al-Ameen College and met heads of the institution and appealed them to vote against the BJP. He said, if Congress is voted to power, they will ensure that minority communities and women leaders will be given a major push in state administration.
In a speech, he also compared RSS leader Savarkar to a British agent. He also said, “PM Modi boasts about having a 56-inch chest but at the same time he and his colleagues are looking to amend the constitution but do nothing of the sort for the welfare of people.”
BJP spokesperson S Prakash reacted to Hariprasad’s statements saying, “He is known to air such controversial remarks. He has insulted the Army, questioned the Pulwama attack, accused the Prime Minister of colluding with Imran Khan. It is no surprise that he has made such a statement. He has lost his mental balance because he fears defeat as the Congress has forced him to contest from a constituency that will upset him. This is why he’s making such baseless comments.”
