'Yoga is a gift from India': West Indian cricket legend Sir Richie Richardson bats for yoga

Former West Indies cricket captain Sir Richie Richardson urged the people of the Caribbean to join the live yoga session to be conducted by the Indian High Commission in Guyana on June 19.

Former West Indies cricket captain Sir Richie Richardson said that yoga is a gift from India and urged the people of the Caribbean to join the live yoga session to be conducted by the Indian High Commission in Guyana on June 19. 

The 7th edition of the international day of yoga is being celebrated worldwide this year. In a video message, Richardson appealed to people to 'be with yoga and be at home'.

"I would like to inform you that the world will be celebrating the 7th edition of the international day of yoga on June 21 this year. Yoga is an art and science of healthy living which brings harmony between mind and body. Yoga is a gift from India. June 21 was unanimously declared as International Day of Yoga in 2014 by the United Nations General Assembly," he said. 

"This year the celebrations are being conducted through online platforms on this occasion High Commission of India in Guyana is conducting the yoga session on June 19. Join them live on social media and prominent TV channels from your home. Be with yoga and be at home," the former cricketer added.
