Food Trails: Kurtoskalacs - climbing up the sugary chimney cake

Kurtoskalacs or chimney cakes are a piece of history from Hungary which has travelled for centuries to reach Bengaluru. In this video of Food Trails we try out the tasty treats for the first time

Desserts in India have gone through a rapid change in the last few years. While one could not help thinking beyond chocolate, ice-cream or black forest cake, there seems to be so much more on offer with waffles and deconstructed traditional items on the menu these days. To add to our list of favourite desserts now is the Chimney cakes, also known as Kurtoskalacs. We visited a store by the same name who are known to be the specialists for this kind of treat. And what a treat it was. Needless to say, we were blown away by our first attempt at the sweet and savoury chimney cakes on offer.
This outlet, in Indiranagar, which has a live counter knows how to put on a good show.

Watch this video to know more about our wonderful experience here and don't miss out on an opportunity to try the chimney cakes  at Kurtoskalacs if you pass by their outlets in Koramangala or Indiranagar.
