Bengaluru: First time in India, Bethany students bring Lin-Manuel Miranda musical to life

After auditioning 4000 students, 155 were selected to present the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical 'In the Heights' in Bengaluru. With this, Bethany High created a record of presenting the Lin-Manuel Miranda for the first time in India.
 

Bengaluru: At least 155 students of Bethany Institutes enthralled the audience by bringing Lin-Manuel Miranda musical to life in Bengaluru.

The musical show titled "In The Heights" was presented by the students of Bethany High at St John's auditorium in Bengaluru. It is the adaptation of popular American composer, lyricist, singer, actor, and playwright, widely known for creating and starring in the Broadway musicals. His creation "In The Heights" has won four Tony Awards in 2008 and also a Grammy award.

After auditioning 4,000 students across Bethany institutes, 155 students were selected and after rigorous practice of the musical that is an amalgamation of rap, hip hop, Latin music depicting the story of sacrifice, vulnerability, family.  

"It is a part of the culture and DNA to have music in drama," said Musical Director Saroop Oommen.
