Speaking to reporters, professor of IIT Kharagpur, Suman Chakraborty said, "'iClothes' are made of cellulose fibers which have charge in their walls. If you immerse a piece of cloth in salt solution and it will flow through fibers and ionise. It generates a continuous voltage. If connected to an external register and it can generate small power. "We have up-scaled this mechanism of generation of power by taking our technology to 'Dhobi Ghat' where washermen dry clothes."
