Small industries in coastal Karnataka's green zone reopen as hotspots go under strict lockdown
Small industries in Udupi reopened after the Karnataka government eased lockdown in green zones and allowed work with minimum staff
Udupi: The Karnataka government on Saturday announced to follow MHA's lockdown guidelines while relaxing it in certain districts with no or few cases of coronavirus after the Centre extended nationwide lockdown beyond May 4 for two weeks. However, there will be no change in curfew norms in districts that have been categorised as hotspots. These include Bengaluru Urban, Belagavi, Mysuru, Vijaypura, Bagalkot, Kalburgi, Bidar and Dakshina Kannada where the existing restrictions will continue.
Industries in green zones started operating. Udupi district in coastal Karnataka declared as a green zone, reopened small industries. Vishveshvara plastic industry in Udupi city started functioning and is providing re-employment to 20 workers who are performing their duty adhering to social distancing and wearing masks.
