K'taka-Maha border dispute: MES issues deadline to remove Kannada flag from Belagavi corporation

The dust is yet to settle down from the recent controversial claims by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackrey about declaring Belagavi and bordering areas in Karnataka-Maharashtra as union territory, now Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) activists have given one week deadline to Belagavi District Administration to remove Karnataka flag from Belagavi Municipal Corporation.

The activists of MES yesterday held a meeting and decided to hold a massive protest against Karnataka and have threatened to remove the flag from the Belagavi Corporation in case there is a delay from District Administration.

The meeting was held under the leadership of MES president Deepak Dalvi and it is he who has given the deadline to Belagavi District administration to remove the Karnataka flag before March 8.

The MES also is planning to take out a massive protest against Karnataka's control over Belagavi.

Following the controversial claims by MES activists, pro-Kannada outfits have demanded a strict action against them.
