Kerala: Massive fire in building of secretariat department investigating gold smuggling case; files destroyed
A fire broke out at the Secretariat’s protocol department on Tuesday evening.
Thiruvananthapuram: Major fire broke out in the Kerala secretariat on August 25. The fire occurred in the secretariat’s protocol department which is at the North Sandwich Block.
According to sources, many files and computers were destroyed in the fire. The initial finding suggests that a short circuit is the reason for the blaze.
However, the actual cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. It is to be noted that the protocol department is the section that is investigating the high-profile gold smuggling case.
