Karnataka home minister reacts on Bidar school sedition case, says everything done according to law

Shaheen Education Institute students in Bidar, Karnataka, had staged an anti-CAA drama and had insulted PM Modi on January 21 

Bengaluru: Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai reacted on the recent sedition case slapped at authorities of Shaheen Education Institute in Bidar and stated that everything has been done as per law as the matter is extremely serious and sensitive. "Everything has been done as per law. The law is taking its own course. It is a very serious and sensitive case. I am gathering more details about the probe in the case," said minister Basavaraj Bommai. Amid continuous protests over CAA and NRC across the country, a sedition case has been filed against a school authority for staging a play in which some characters allegedly 'insulted' Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police have invoked sections 124A, 505 and 504 IPC against the institution. Police are investigating the matter. The drama was performed during an annual function held at the Shaheen School in Bidar on January 21. A social activist had filed a complaint and an FIR was registered on January 26.
