Karnataka forest guard killed in accidental firing by colleague while chasing elephants

Mandya: In a case of accidental firing during a chasing operation of wild elephants at Malavalli village in Mandya, Karnataka, a forest guard was shot dead. The victim was identified as Shivananjaiah, 30. Due to the impact of a bullet hitting him on his back, he died on the spot. An elephant herd from Shimsha forest range had ventured into the village and when villagers were screaming for help seeing the elephants, forest guards arrived. Forest guard Prakash Adachad accidently fired at the victim. A case has been registered.
